CHEVROLET DEBUTS ALL-NEW, ALL-ELECTRIC 2022 BOLT EUV

February 26th, 2021 by

Last month, General Motors made an announcement that will fundamentally change the way the company does business: they plan to phase out all light-duty gasoline and diesel powered cars, trucks, vans and SUVs by 2035; part of a goal to make the entire company “carbon neutral” by 2040.

It’s an ambitious goal for a company that was literally built around the gasoline-powered internal combustion engine, one that will require GM to design, build and market over 30 different alternative-fuel vehicles in the next 14 years to meet the high bar they have set.

That said, Chevy took a big move toward that greener, cleaner future recently, with the debut of the all-new, all-electric 2022 Chevy Bolt EUV — or Electric Utility Vehicle. Featuring the footprint, cargo room and passenger space of a small SUV, combined with the latest generation of GM’s battery and charging technology plus a starting price that puts it within reach of everyday Americans, the 2022 Bolt EUV promises to be a new chapter for Chevrolet. Together with the recently-released, all-electric 2022 Bolt sedan, Chevy hopes the vehicles and their cutting-edge safety tech will help Chevy reach a vision of “zero crashes, zero emissions and zero traffic congestion in the future.

“The new Bolt EUV is the best of the Bolt EV packaged in an SUV-like vehicle with more technology and features, giving customers more choices and reasons to switch to electric,” said Steve Hill, vice president of Chevrolet. “This is an opportunity for Chevy to capitalize on the success we’ve built with the Bolt EV and bring new customers into the Chevy family.”

Along with the most advanced and efficient powertrain ever installed in a Chevy SUV, the 2022 Bolt EUV will be the first Chevy vehicle to offer Super Cruise, the automotive industry’s first hands-free driver assistance system, which enables the 2022 Bolt EUV to drive itself, with a driver safely behind the wheel in case of emergencies, of course, on hundreds of thousands of miles of compatible roads in the U.S. and Canada.

The 2022 Bolt EUV features a starting price of $33,995. In addition to giving Bolt owners both level one and level two charges at home, GM is making charging on the go even easier through a partnership with EVgo, America’s largest fast-charging network. Together, GM and EVgo hope to triple the number of public fast charging stations all over the country by 2025.

“The new Bolt EUV builds on our bold and athletic Chevrolet SUV design themes, but are executed in a uniquely electric way,” said Phil Zak, executive design director for Chevy. Featuring excellent proportions and interiors that reflect what todays tech-savvy car buyers want, the 2022 Chevy Bolt EUV features muscular design and plenty of room, with details like a center crease line that runs up and over the hood, and standard, functional roof-rails to help you bring along more gear to help you find your next adventure.

Additional connectivity technologies offered in the Bolt EUV include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as a standard wireless phone charging pad and available 4G LTE Wi-Fi Hotspot. Also accessible in the 2022 Bolt EUV; the familiarity and convenience of Amazon Alexa, which can be installed as an app on the touch screen, allowing you to use voice commands to play music, make calls, get directions and more.

The future is now, and the 2022 Chevy Bolt EUV is going to take you even further into our greener, cleaner tomorrow with affordable, all-electric technology and the classic Chevy design you know and respect.
