A new front fascia for the Camaro SS, a new LT1 V8 performance model and a new 10-speed automatic transmission lead the way as the Chevrolet recently debuted the new 2020 Chevrolet Camaro, with the 2020 Camaro’s all-new nose based on a distinctive Chevrolet concept design that appeared at last year’s SEMA Show in Las Vegas.

The redesigned front fascia for the Camaro SS is modeled on that of the Camaro Shock show car that debuted at the 2018 SEMA show, and features a repositioned Chevrolet Bowtie emblem and a body-color bar between the lower and upper grille sections. Previously, the 2019 Camaro SS had featured a blacked out bar between the upper and lower grilles.

“Customers spoke, and we listened,” said Steve Majoros, director of Chevrolet passenger car and crossover marketing. “The overwhelmingly positive reaction to the Shock’s stylized design helped prompt its transition from concept to production.”

Under the hood, the new LT1 V8 model, available on the Camaro 1LT and SS, features an LT1 V8 making a robust 455 horsepower. That will make the LT1 V8 Camaro one of the affordable high-performance vehicle in the Camaro lineup, with a starting price of just $34,995. In addition to the rumbling, high-output V8, the LT1 Camaro model features upgraded styling, including the Camaro SS’s vented hood, LT1 fender badges and black Chevrolet Bowtie emblems, 20 x 8.5 inch SS-style wheels and all season tires, and the available Technology Package, with an eight inch diagonal color touchscreen and a premium audio system by Bose. The new Camaro LT1 package is available on either hardtop or convertible models.

“The new Camaro LT1 is a great choice for those seeking a pure V-8 performance experience,” said Majoros. “And at less than $35,000, it will be one of the most affordable V-8 performers on the market.”

Shifting gears to mechanical improvements, Chevrolet has announced the 2020 Camaro with the 3.6-liter V6 will be offered with the all-new 10-speed automatic, for smoother transitions between shifts and a broad range of gears to help you find the sweet spot between power and fuel economy, no matter what the road throws your way.

Chevrolet also announced that the 2020 Camaro will include a host of new color options and available exterior features, including the heritage-inspired Rally Green exterior color, a rear spoiler available on LS and LT models, red or orange performance brake calipers on LT, LT1 and SS models, 20-inch forged aluminum wheels available on LT, LT1 and SS, red seatbelts — previously available only on the ZL1 — available on all models, Recaro performance seats available on LT trim Camaro models, alloy pedals on all models, and Adrenaline Red and Ceramic White leather interiors available on the 2LT trim, in addition to the 3LT and SS models.

The 2020 Camaro will be on sale beginning early this fall, with the model built at GM’s Lansing Grand River Assembly Plant in Lansing, Michigan.
