How to Get Out of the House (while Social Distancing) in your Chevy.

April 27, 2020 In these crazy times, we must do what we can to get out of the house and keep our heads straight. A great use of time would be to take a drive! Not only is it relaxing but it allows you to explore parts of the community that we may not have seen otherwise. At Landers Chevrolet of Joplin, Missouri, we think it’s important to take care of yourself and others around you. That’s why we believe a social distance drive is needed every once and awhile!

A great place to explore is, of course, the iconic stretch of Route 66 that goes right through Joplin! Getting your kicks on Route 66 gives you the opportunity to reflect on the nostalgia of our country. Along the way, you’ll find vintage service stations, murals, and museums. We recommend staying in your car but if you get out to snap a photo, make sure you are at least six feet away from any other visitors.

Another place to get out and socially distance while enjoying nature is Grand Falls. While only a short drive from Joplin’s city center, once you arrive you feel like you’ve been transported to an oasis. This beautiful spot is great to sit and relax or even pull out your fishing rod and clear your head. There is a running trail very close that runs by Shoal Creek to exercise and clear your mind.

You can’t miss out on Roaring River State Park! Located in the Ozark Hills, Roar River offers not only a beautiful destination but a beautiful driving experience getting to the park. Pair the curvy roads and elevation changes with your favorite Chevy model and you’ll be in for such a fun drive!
