How to (Safely) Decorate Your Car for the Holidays

Car-stume: Dress up your car with a holiday costume made specifically for your car. Choose an original reindeer costume with antlers for the windows and a symbolic red nose for the front grille. If you’re more of DIY’er then put together a wreath for the front grille or rear end of your vehicle. If you choose to fix decorations to the front of your vehicle, make sure you don’t block too much of the air intakes which can cause your engine to overheat.

Light it up: Attaching Christmas lights to your vehicle is a great way to make a holiday statement. Strands of battery-powered lights are available for easy decorating but can get costly if you want to decorate your whole vehicle. Several new Chevrolet models come standard with a household-type plug for easy power solutions. If your vehicle doesn’t have a plug, you can purchase a 12-volt inverter to plug into the DC power outlet in your vehicle and use traditional Christmas lights. Make sure you check with local ordinances and policies to ensure you can legally drive around with colored and blinking lights.

Drive jolly: Everyone is rushing around this holiday season to complete their lists, so make sure to not get lost in the shuffle. Reflect on what the holidays are truly about and be thankful for what you’ve been blessed with.
