Fall is almost here and we are ready for it! Time to say goodbye to that heat and welcome in the cool, crisp fall air. At least by October it will be somewhat here. Perk of living in the south, right? As we know, living in Missouri has its perks, especially if you live near Joplin. We are close to cities, have anything readily near us and we have beautiful fall scenery! This fall, take advantage of the fall foliage and go camping! Grab your family, dogs, best friends and go see what Missouri has to offer. Keep on reading to find some of the top camping places near Joplin, Missouri.

1. Zan’s Creekside Campground – Here you can hang out by Shoal Creek! Rent an inner tube and have some fun in the water! At Zans Creekside you are close enough to town for all your food needs (hello Andy’s) but still far enough out to enjoy the gorgeous outdoors. At Zan’s Creekside Campground you can pitch a tent to camp or there are available RV spaces with full hookup!

2. Grand Falls – This is a must see for anyone in Joplin, Missouri! From this point, you get to see the stunning 12 foot waterfall that tumbles into Shoal’s Creek. The fall was created by a man-made dam to form a reservoir that supplies water to Joplin residents. Grand Falls is easily accessible from Riverside Drive where you will see a small gravel lot to park. Just be prepared for the rocky terrain ahead so don’t forget those hiking shoes!

3. Waters Edge Campground – This beautiful campground offers 12 RV spaces with partial hookups, and amazing camping area to pitch a tent! Here at Water Edge Campground, you can fish, swim or even float down Shoal Creek. There are also numerous picnic pavilions around the campground for the perfect lake day.

We are proud to be from Joplin, Missouri and proud of all it has to offer. If you go camping at one of these campsites, let us know. We would love to hear about your adventures.
