The launch of the mid-engine, eighth-generation 2020 Chevy Corvette was one of the hottest vehicle offerings of the year, with the entire production run of the C8’s inaugural year being sold out before the first 2020 Corvette even rolled off the assembly line in Bowling Green, Kentucky.

Fresh off that record-breaking success, Chevrolet recently announced what will be new for the 2021 Corvette. The biggest news about the 2021 Corvette is what stays the same: the price! The 2020 Corvette coupe made a huge stir with its starting price under $60,000 – a price tag that will net you his and hers ‘Vettes for the same cost as most comparable mid-engine supercars, and which is thousands less than even a fully-optioned Chevy Silverado 1500. Good news, Corvette fans! Chevy has announced that Corvette’s rock-bottom starting price will stay the same for the 2021 model year, with the C8 coupe starting at $59,995 and the C8 roadster out the door for $67,495! That’s still a heck of a bargain, especially given what the mid-engine C8 can do on the track, street and dragstrip.

“Our mission was to develop a new sports car, combining the successful attributes of Corvette with the performance and driving experience of mid-engine supercars,” said Tadge Juechter, Corvette executive chief engineer. “We are thrilled with the enthusiasm the mid-engine Corvette brought following its launch and are keeping it fresh with new content for the 2021 model.”

Also all new on the 2021 Corvette are standard, cutting-edge Magnetic Selective Ride Control suspension and standard wireless phone connectivity via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

There are also new exterior color options, including Red Mist Metallic Tintcoat and Silver Flare Metallic. Bumper-to-bumper dual racing stripes are available in your choice of Blue, Orange, Red or Yellow, and hood stinger stripes in three new colors: Carbon Flash/Edge Red, Carbon Flash/Edge Yellow and Carbon Flash/Midnight Silver.

Bold new interior colors are available too, including a Sky Cool Gray/Yellow Strike two-tone leather option.

Another thing that remains the same for 2021 is the Corvette C8’s award-winning running gear, centered around the 6.2L LT2 V8 with Direct Injection, Variable Valve Timing and Active Fuel Management. The next-generation eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transaxle with manual and automatic modes makes for a great drive, along with a Driver Mode Selector with six modes including Tour, Sport, Track, Weather, and MyMode and customizable Z Mode.
